Sand Clay Recipe
A great rustic recipe that requires no baking. Simply turn your local beach into clay.

1 cup clean sand
1/2 cup cornstarch
1/2 tsp. alum
1/2 cup water
Since we’re using sand you might want to find an old cooking pot where you can pour the sand. Then add cornstarch, water, alum and mix it together. Cook on stove at medium heat, stir constantly. The mixture will liquefy as it gets warmer. After 2-3 minutes it will get thicker.
As it stiffens and the consistency reminds you of stiff cookie dough, remove from the stove but keep stiring for a few moments as it cools down.
Place the clay on a hard surface and let it cool down. When the temperature is pleasant enough to work with, begin the creating.

will this clay dry relatively solid? flaky? not at all?
Like most clay it will get more or less solid. It wont be the smoothest clay you’ve seen, since you’re using sand, but it wont flake too much.
i dont use cornstarch or alum i use sand flour and glue
