Sawdust Clay Recipe
If you want a really hard clay product when dried, then this is the clay recipe to go for.
2 cups sawdust
1 cup flour
Water
Begin with mixing two parts sawdust with one part water. You should add water, until the mixture is stiff, but workable. If you feel that the clay is too crumbly, then you can add a little more flour. When mixed, place the clay on a newspaper-covered table. Knead until it reaches an elastic consistency.
Then the clay can be molded as desired and air dried. When dried the clay will be very hard. After its been dried the clay product can be sanded for a smoother surface and painted, or just painted, depending on what you’re looking for. If desired put on acrylic finish or similar, to give the creation a shiny appearance.
